• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the trip planning service
• Send trip-related notifications and email updates you've opted into
• Share trip details with crew members you've invited
• Generate route suggestions and planning recommendations

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in these limited cases:

• With your crew: Trip details are shared with members you invite
• Published trips: If you publish a trip to Discover, the route and summary become publicly visible (your email is never shown)
• Service providers: We use third-party services for hosting (DigitalOcean), mapping (OpenStreetMap), and email delivery
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect rights and safety

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We use encryption for sensitive data and authentication tokens. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Photos and Media

Photos you upload are stored on our cloud storage and are accessible to trip members. If you publish a trip summary, selected photos may be visible to the public. You can delete your photos at any time.

6. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

7. Your Rights

You can:

• Access and update your account information via Settings
• Delete photos and trip content you've created
• Request account deletion by contacting us

8. Third-Party Services

WheelsUp uses the following third-party services that may process data:

• OpenStreetMap / Nominatim: Geocoding and map tiles
• OSRM: Route distance and duration calculations
• OpenTopoData: Elevation profile data
• DigitalOcean: Cloud hosting and file storage
• Google Gemini: AI-powered route suggestions (trip metadata only, no personal info)
